Premaloka (Kannada: ಪ್ರೇಮಲೋಕ) is a Kannada feature film starring Ravichandran and Juhi Chawla released in 80s. Premaloka literally means "World of Love" in Kannada language. It was Super hit film, becoming biggest grosser of that time. The film had twelve songs all of which are popular even today. The film gave a talented music director Hamsalekha to Kannada film industry. It gave Juhi Chawla a break in film industry and V. Ravichandran name as director.Dr.Vishnuvardhan,Ambarish made guest appearance in the movie.
Loosely based on Grease-2, the film revolves around the protagonist, who tries to woo a girl (his classmate). On being spurned, he poses as a mysterious biker, and sweeps her off her feet. Towards the end, she comes to know that the biker and her classmate are in fact the same guy.
In spite of an ordinary story and moderate performances, the film had a tremendous response due to few reasons: For one, the whole package was fresh. It was a complete break-away from Anant Nag, Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan movies. Then, the sets and art direction. It gave the viewer an impression that Kannada Films can be big budget too. Music by Hamsalekha was a huge plus. The songs are hummed even today, and it made Hamsalekha an overnight star. One of the song (Nodamma Hudugi) was been reused by Sundeep Malani for his Kanglish film SMS 6260 featuring Diganth, Kiran, Janu and himself.
Hamsalekha would go on to compose music for many more Ravichandran films, making them a superb pair in the 80s and 90s.
The film was remade in Tamil as Paruva Ragam, with the same lead pair and songs. It was a hit there too.
Cast: Vijaya Raghavendra, Komalkumar, Diganth, Jennifer Kotwal, Rangayana Raghu and Sihikahi Chandru Direction: Anantharaju Music: Balaji Banner: Namana Creations Mast Maja Maadi is a big film which was expected to bring cheers to the industry which has now been going in rough times. The theatre collections in the recent days after the Bomb blast and the recession trends has been showing downward trend. But Mast Maja Maadi has opened well in Karnataka and this is a big news.
But what about the film itself. Well, the film is a remake of Hindi Hit Dhamaal made by Indrakumar just an year ago. The makers of this film are still claiming that the film is a remake of Hollywood flick 'Its a Mad Mad World' though. Mast Maja Maadi is a full length laugh riot thanks to a tailor made script with senseless, slapstick sequences which are bound to make the audience laugh. Let us talk about the plus points of the film first. Mast Maja Maadi turns out to be a sure entertainer mainly because of Vijaya Raghavendra and Komal's brilliant comedy timing, Jennifer's glamour quotient and two fantastic song picturisations. On the flip side, it is the dialogues which lack punch and surprisingly a low key performance by Sudeep who always gives hundred percent to his portrayals.
The film revolves around four good for nothing and irresponsible youngsters getting to know of a hidden booty by a person who is on the verge of death in a few minutes. The person was driving a speeding car which overturns in a field. Unfortunately for them, a police officer who is following the car also comes to the scene and he wants to know what was the dying person's revealations. The greedy youngsters then set on a course of treasure hunt are being followed by the police team led by the officer who also eyes on the booty. And during the course of their journey to the Botonical Gardens in Ooty where the booty is hidden, the youngsters quarrel and get separated. In a series of funny encounters later all of them assemble at Ooty. And the funny game starts all over again.
As earlier said Vijaya Raghavendra and Komal rock in their respective roles. Nag Kiran and Diganth have acted well, but it is the first two who takes the shining glory. Credit is also due to Jennifer who shines in the song sequences. Needless to say that Rangayana Raghu over acts again. There are many number of actors who appear in just one scene, but however make you laugh.
Mast Maja Maadi is a fun film, but it could have been a much better film if it could have been reworked to suit the changes made in the script. Nevertheless, it is much better than the present crop of films that are seen in recent days. Watch Mast Maja Maadi Kannada Movie Online by clicking on the below links

Movie Review Director Vijayalakshmi Singh's "Male Barali Manju Irali" is a feel good love story, which is told in a classic style. Singh has returned to basics to make the film that has a neat narration and top class performances. It is also technically sound.
The film doesn't have too much space for special effects, graphics and glitzy visuals. It's a simple story, but makes an impact. This is Singh's second directorial venture and she shows her class by making a stylish film that will appeal to young audiences and women too.
The director has presented the main protagonist Sneha well in both style and substance. She represents today's much awakened modern woman who is confident, mature, transparent and doesn't hesitate in speaking her mind. Other characters look like prototypes, but Singh has taken care to make the proceedings as natural as possible.
Despite having a simple love triangle, "Male Barali Manju Irali" will strike the chord with the viewers as it has high degree of emotional intensity, not seen in the Kannada films recently.
That is precisely because of charged performances by leading artists Parvathy, Kitty and Jai Jagadish. And Singh gets ample support from top class technicians that include cameraman Ajay Vincent, dialogue writer B.A. Madhu and composer Mano Murthy, whose background stands out in the film.
The films is about a well-educated young girl Sneha who comes to her village to spent time with her father Shivappa who works for a rich estate owner. Sneha's childhood memories are rekindled when she sees the two sons of the estate owner.
She takes a liking to Vishwas, elder of the two who is an introvert but with a heart of gold. While the younger brother falls in love with her. Since Sneha has been closer to Prem as a child, she seeks his help to strengthen her relationship with Vishwas. And then starts the drama.
Malayalam actress Parvathy gives a brilliant performance. She is extremely natural in her role. Her body language, dialogue delivery sinks suits the modern girl that she plays. She is terrific in the climax where she doesn't speak even a word, but shows a range of emotions.
Kitty comes off very good in the climax sequence as well. This is veteran actor Jai Jagadish's best role so far. All the other artists have given satisfactory performances.
Ajay Vincent's camera work captures the beauty of the locations as much as the mood of the sequences. The title song and "Ondhu Sala" are well shot.
Over all "Male Barali Manju Irali" is an enjoyable fare, which could be appreciated for its narrative, direction and high voltage performances.
