His first movie, Bhagyavantharu, is full of melodrama and is starring the poplular Kannada Hero NatasaarvaBhowma Padma Bhushana Dr. RajKumar and PadmaShree B.Saroja Devi is the best one remembered even today.This superb movie is his first directorial film. It is branded as the classic cinema in the Kannada industry. This can be rated as one of the best movies in Dr. Raj's carrier.Mr. Bhargava's next movie Olavu Gelavu is also starring Dr.Raj and Laxmi.Here Dr.Raj's character is an English Professor - Shakespear's Mark Antony's famous speech in the classroom is Superb and very stylish too.These two flims of Dr. Raj lifted his carrier higher.
His first film with Dr. Vishnuvardhan "Asaadhya Aliya" is a success one too. He has a total of 23 films with Dr. Vishnuvardhan. The rate of success of the combination is very high. He is good at action films too. He has directed seven films for Mr.Ambareesh, 4 films for AnantNag, 2 films for ShankarNag, 2 films for ShivRaj Kumar and many other heroes.
His 50th movie "Ganndulgali Kumara Rama" is a mighty and colorful historial one. Shivaraj Kumar's acting is noteworthy. In many of this interviews he has shown his gratitude to Hunsure Director and famous Comedian and Producer/Director Mr Dwarakeesh.
Before becoming an independent director, he has worked as an associate with many Veteran Directors like Mr Hunsur KrisnaMurthy, Siddalingaiah,Vijay, Geethapriya and K.S.R Dass.
He has worked as an associate in many great movies like Bangaarada Manushya, Bhaktha Khumbara, Babru Vaahana, Naa Ninna Marayalaare Mayor Muthanna etc.
This gave him a rich experience and moulded his carrier to become a famous director. He has got a good number of desciples who have become successful directors. S.Narayan, Pani Ramachandra, ChandraShekar Sharma and others.
Music Directors Rajan-Nagendra have worked with him for more than 20 films. Many of the films have got melodious songs. He has also worked with great music directors Laxmikant Pyarelal, Bappi Lahiri, Satyam, Guru Kiran etc.
Recently he was appointed Chairman of Kannada film awards 2010 by the state government of Karnataka
